Phillip J. Ziols

At the age of 20, PJ Ziols decided writing was the only way. Through many nights of excess and morning mind wanderings he began to imagine a life of complete freedom; a life where he created his own poetic destiny. At 33, after gaining insight and experience into this wild circus of life, he released his first poetry collection, The Numb Ocean. More than just a collection of separate poems, this book puts you into the author’s blender-esque reality to feel the motion of living through words from start to finish and venturing into the dark and bright spots of the cave of the soul.

His second book, The Melting Pot, takes you further into his deep and sometimes superficial, though always honest, thoughts. A visceral reaction to the pandemic and finally having the freedom of not relying on the normal systems, this hybrid work of poetry, prose, and personal confession takes us on a political-sociological-psychological journey from space to hell. His constant hope is that you can catch a slight glimpse of the twisted delightful torment that he lives every moment.

Originally from Chicago, he currently lives in Boulder, Colorado.

He ran for mayor of Boulder in 2023 utilizing all of his social skills he’s learned from having worked and lived in Boulder for the past 10 years.

Either you’re wrong or you write.
